Simple Checklist Maker

When your list already exists in a note, message, or email, making it usable should be a short job. Paste the text into ListPaste, turn it into checkable rows, and use the same list until the task is finished. There is no account to create and no special list format to learn first.

Create, use, and reuse a checklist

  1. Create: paste ordinary text into the input on the ListPaste homepage. Each line becomes an item; commas and semicolons work too.
  2. Use: check off completed items and drag rows into the order that matches what you are doing.
  3. Reuse: leave the list in the same browser and it is saved locally. Return to the source text when you want to revise the list rather than rebuilding it row by row.

Paste the list you already have

Simple input works well. Use one item per line, or give related items a heading by ending the heading with a colon:

Groceries:
milk
bread, eggs

Before leaving:
- return library book
- charge phone

ListPaste recognizes the group headings, splits comma- or semicolon-separated items, and removes common bullet or numbered prefixes. You can keep the rough structure from your source instead of retyping it into separate form fields.

Everyday jobs that fit a simple list

Errands in route order

Paste stops and purchases, then drag them into the order you plan to visit them.

Room-by-room chores

Use Kitchen:, Bathroom:, and Bedroom: headings to keep one cleaning list grouped.

Packing from a note

Turn the rough packing note on your phone into rows you can check while filling a bag.

A repeatable routine

Keep the list in the same browser, edit the source when the routine changes, and work through it again.

Share a snapshot, not a synchronized workspace

If another person needs the starting list, use Share after you create it. The link contains an encoded snapshot of the current items and groups. Opening it imports an independent browser copy, so each person can check or reorder their own copy without changing everybody else's list. It is useful for handing off a plan, but it is not live collaboration or account sync.

Frequently asked questions

What text can I paste into the simple checklist maker?

You can paste one item per line or separate items with commas or semicolons. Bullets and numbered-list prefixes are removed. A line ending in a colon starts a named group for the items below it.

Can I change the checklist after creating it?

Yes. Check items as you finish them, reorder items with their drag handles, add a group, return to the source text to edit it, or start a new list.

Will my checklist still be there when I return?

ListPaste saves the current list in browser storage on that device. It does not require an account or send the list to a server for account-based storage.

Does a shared checklist update for everyone?

No. The Share button encodes the current items and groups in a URL. Someone opening it imports an independent snapshot into their browser; later changes are not synchronized between copies.
